New Albany Fire Department – Station No. 4

This new, 9,500-square-foot fire station features a hose drying tower and two drive-through apparatus bays. The station also includes a social hub and fitness room, and dorm-style sleeping quarters feature Murphy beds. Located in a predominately 1960s neighborhood, Station No. 4 feels residential in nature. The scale mimics that of surrounding homes, and the interior spaces, while day-lit, retain a sense of privacy.

The facade complements neighboring architecture, and the area’s wooded landscape balances the building’s mid-century modern influences.
