On June 27, Axis principal Drew White will co-lead a workshop and tour of the Julia M. Carson Transit Center.
Joining Drew as co-instructors are Tim King, project manager at Guidon Design, and Kevin Osburn, managing principal of Rundell Ernstberger Associates. Drew, Tim, and Kevin were all members of the design team for the transit center, which was completed in June 2016. It is expected to receive LEED Silver certification.
The Indiana chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is hosting the event, which is approved for 1.5 GBCI LEED AP BD+C credits and AIA LW/HSW and ACEC PDH. Attendees will receive an insiders’ look at the transit center and learn about some of the green strategies used in its design. Some of the environmentally friendly features that will be discussed include storm water techniques, heat island reduction, and passive solar strategies.
The tour and workshop will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 27, at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center. Tickets start at $15, and include the cost of lunch.
