Check out this IndyStar feature on Ashley Lee and Liz Sutton, who each designed a mid-century modern dollhouse! The dollhouses — which included tiny sandboxes, globe lights made from ping-pong balls, and handmade furniture — were auctioned off at the GiGi’s Playhouse Indianapolis “I Have a Voice” Gala.
The dollhouses sold for a collective $1,375, benefiting GiGi’s Playhouse’s Down syndrome achievement center. The project was personal for Ashley, whose daughter, Zevie, was born with Down syndrome two years ago. Ashley and Liz decided to call the dollhouses Zevie Hazel Houses in her honor, and have spent most of this year working on them.
